It made her believe that she was truly diff erent and so different that she can’t be given the same opportunities, respect, or even attitude, but in her mind, this was all justified, she herself thinks that if she was in the other person’s shoes, she would do the same. Unlike Jeanne, Anne was infuriated about her situation, not understanding why just because of her religion that they had to go into hiding, but this doesn’t mean that she didn’t accept and understand her living conditions. And all because theyre Jews.† (page 54) This shows that she has understood the situation, and the cause of it, which was the fact that they were Jews, but she still wasn’t able to grasp why the fact that they were Jews meant so much and made them enemies to the Germans. The Jews suffered, the Germans suffered, the Europeans suffered, the Japanese suffered, the Americans suffered, and most of all, the people suffered. In the end, they are all just humans, people that wanted to live. They spent years and years trying to stay alive, but inside, they were already dead. Anne was unfortunate enough to see how bright her future could’ve been. How her writing impacted so many people. Anne had so much more to say, but because of nothing but pure hatred, she has wiped off this face of Earth. After the concentration camp, his relationship with the person he used to trust most was tarnished beyond compare, and that person was God. Elie believed in God with all of his heart, but eventually, he lost that; he lost the ability to feel bad for others, to care for others, or to even be there for others. Through churches and marriages the African-Americans were now creating a community for themselves. Slavery ended and blacks were finally free to some extent. Although they were now free, they would still remain under the white man's foot. This was a huge step for the African-Americans though. I believe that Christianity had a lot to do with the ending of slavery. The blacks already knew that slavery was wrong, and finally enough whites realized, through God that this was wrong and immoral. However, there will still be many whites who are ignorant in the preachings of God and still treat the blacks as though they are slaves. African-Americans will keep their heads high and fight for their freedom through the strength of God. Even though African-Americans were no longer slaves, they still do not have the freedom that everyone in America deserved. Slavery was now gone, but the main issue became segregation. Blacks still did not received the same rights as the whites did. They could not attend the same schools, use white bathroom facilities, eat in the same restaurants, ride on the front of buses, or even drink fro the same water fountains. This went against everything that God said and the blacks knew that. They knew that God created everyone equal and their are some African-Americans who will fight for this. Most blacks were scared to come public and fight for their rights. There was still a lof of violence and hostility toward blacks at this time. Blacks were being hung, beaten, and brutally murdered.
